Until the A7RII, I wouldn’t have said that “Canon is the preferred brand for adapting to Sony,” unless you already have a bunch of Canon lenses that you wanted to keep using. It might be worth noting the high-end ZWO cameras use Sony sensors which are amazing and very sensitive to low light. The image below was taken with an A7RII and a Sony 100-400mm lens at 400mm. This is 10 exposures, 240 sec. If I wanted an AP camera and could get an A7RII and 2/3rds the cost of an A7RII, it would be a no brainer for me.
